Reward Offered in California Murder and Arson Case

The state of California has offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever set the blaze that has run wild in California and claimed the lives of two firefighters.

Vet Van Jones For Yourself

Michelle Malkin has put together an excellent report, and I mean phenomenal, detailing many aspects of the Van Jones story, plus the numerous tangents that go along with it.  Click on the link below for more links than you'll know what to do with and see for yourself.

Beck and Malkin Discuss Van Jones et al.

And raise some very important points, especially those relating to vetting and the FBI.

Far-Left Pushes Obama Towards Wildly Unpopular Public Option

"President Obama held a conference call with more than two-dozen House progressives Friday about health care reform -- and their adamant demand for the public option."

Link Here

And so much for 'Patriotic Dissent.'

"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.""

New York Times Distorts Reality to Fit Fantasy

Here's the short version.

Support for healthcare reform is/was falling.  The New York Times could not accept that.  So they fudged reality.

Their June 12-16 poll:

"72 percent of respondents favored the creation of a government health-insurance plan that would compete with private insurers."

HOWEVER...

"Out of 895 respondents, 24 percent were Republicans, 38 percent Democrats, and 38 percent were independents, according to a June 20 release from CBS News. While the release says the sampling was conducted at random, those numbers are significantly below the 32.6 percent who identify themselves as Republican according to a May survey from the nonpartisan Rasmussen Reports.

Similarly, the Times/CBS poll said 48 percent of respondents had voted for Obama, versus 25 percent for McCain, a nearly two-to-one advantage for Obama supporters.

Had those results been reflected in the November presidential election, Obama would have garnered 66 percent of the vote to McCain’s 34 percent, Conway, president & CEO of “the polling company,” told CNSNews.com.

“Was the vote 66-34? You tell me,” Conway said.

In 2008, Obama won 53 percent of the vote, McCain won 46 percent."

When reality doesn't agree with your fantasy world, I suppose the typical liberal viewpoint is ignore it and create your own.  And you know what the best part is?  This was back in June.  Support for Healthcare Reform is far lower than anyone at the Times could ever had dreamed up, even in a nightmare.

Promoting Racism, A Liberal Specialty

"...But this leads me to MSNBC, where on Tuesday Contessa Brewer...filed a report about health care protesters showing up armed. In it, she used tape of that same black man carrying an assault rifle and said “there are questions about whether this has racial overtones….white people showing up with guns.”
Of course, like I said – the guy was black. But you never would have known. Because MSNBC has strategically edited the tape, so the race of the armed dude wasn’t revealed. You just assumed he was white, thanks to Contessa."

Click here for the amazing horrendously misleading and edited videos.

And MSNBC's response?

“Contessa was speaking generally and not about that specific person with the automatic weapon.”

No proof.  No examples.  Not even a reason for editing the video to attempt to alter reality.

Want an Obama Bobblehead?

Then head over to NBC!

As we've been reporting, they've ditched fairness for pure and utter ideology ages ago.

But hey, at least you can get a nifty bobblehead of our Commander-in-Chief out of it!

And not just bobbleheads either, NBC's online store is offering 29(!) pro-Obama items.

Van Jones Continues To Be Ignored

"If you were to rely on the New York Times, the Washington Post, NBC Nightly News, ABC World News, CBS Evening News or even all of the combined for all your news you would have absolutely no idea what we are talking about."

But hey, that's why you trust 'The Political Wall!'

How About These Distruptions At Town Hall Events?

"The current town hall outbursts are coming from tens of thousands of folks at events at which they are supposed to exercise their First Amendment rights and speak out. The manufactured disruptions organized by Code Pink and their radical-left comrades were attempts by a handful of people to interrupt, even stop, lawful gatherings and to deny thousands of other folks those same First Amendment rights."

ABC, NBC Refuse To Air Anti-Universal Healthcare Ad

"The refusal by ABC and NBC to run a national ad critical of President Obama's health care reform plan is raising questions from the group behind the spot -- particularly in light of ABC's health care special aired in prime time last June and hosted at the White House."

Follow Up: Networks Coverage of Sheehan During Bush Years

"When Cindy Sheehan arrives on Martha’s Vineyard tomorrow (Tuesday), to protest against President Barack Obama, will the news media be as drawn to her as they were in the summer of 2005 when she was condemning George W. Bush?...
Last week, ABC anchor Charles Gibson declared “enough already” when asked on Chicago’s WLS Radio about Sheehan’s plan to travel to Obama’s island vacation spot to protest the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. When she camped near Bush’s Crawford, Texas ranch four years ago, that was hardly the view of Gibson and his colleagues. At the time, NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell aptly dubbed her “a media magnet.”...
Back then, the networks were eager to publicize her cause from the moment she arrived. Katie Couric, for instance, showcased Sheehan at the top of NBC’s Today show..."

Much, MUCH more here.

Cindy Sheehan, The (Suddenly) Invisble Woman?

Did you know Cindy Sheehan is back protesting the War in Afghanistan?

No?  Well, you certainly would not have found out from the media.

"Outside a short article by the AP there is very little coverage of Cindy Sheehan. The woman who once couldn’t go anywhere without a spate of cameras in tow, is now wandering the streets of Martha’s Vineyard completely alone. Her name is as forgotten by the locals as Mary Jo Kopechne. This despite the Island being packed full of journalists right now; journalists who couldn’t resist an all expense paid trip to the Vineyard to cover the vacation of His Presidency. I’m fairly certain there were a lot more journalists already on the island than there were in that ditch outside of Crawford four years ago..."

More Selective Outrage from The Main Stream Media

"News outlets that are focusing on the incendiary rhetoric of conservatives outside President Obama’s town hall meeting Tuesday ignored the incendiary rhetoric — and even violence — of liberals outside an appearance by former President George W. Bush in 2002.
When Bush visited Portland, Ore., for a fundraiser, protesters stalked his motorcade, assailed his limousine and stoned a car containing his advisers. Chanting “Bush is a terrorist!”, the demonstrators bullied passers-by, including gay softball players and a wheelchair-bound grandfather with multiple sclerosis.
One protester even brandished a sign that seemed to advocate Bush’s assassination. The man held a large photo of Bush that had been doctored to show a gun barrel pressed against his temple.
“BUSH: WANTED, DEAD OR ALIVE,” read the placard, which had an X over the word “ALIVE.”...
Although reporters from numerous national news organizations were traveling with Bush and witnessed the protest, none reported that protesters were shrieking at Republican donors epithets like “Slut!” “Whore!” and “Fascists!”..."

And the media reported none of it.  Now, the slightest, smallest thing, and it's plastered all over the screen or page.  Astounding.

Wall of Reality: Obama Joker Poster-History, and a Teachable Lesson

You all know the story. Pictures of President Obama depicted in Joker makeup start showing up in Los Angelos. Then there's a website. Then t-shirts, and all of the sudden they start popping up in a few other places.

Need a refresher?

Now, before I continue, I should say I've been on the record as saying this type of display is disrespectful. Te President of the United States, regardless of what you may think of him, deserves a level of respect, both for the man and office. Too many great men have come before and will come in the future, and the office, the name and reputation needs to be respected.
However, where my opinion differs from that of many, is that I held the same beliefs while President Bush was president. Recall that after the posters first appeared popping up, liberals and especially the media began crying everything from 'racist' to 'far-right', 'ultra-conservative', 'white-supremacist' and more. They may as well have said, 'we want the head of the one responsible.'
Here's one example of not just the above, but of utter bias. Below are some clips, here's the full link
(In regards to Bush being depicted as the Joker) "That drawing at least played into a view of Bush popular among his detractors..." (Then the 'race' word comes out...again...) "So why the anonymity? Perhaps because the poster is ultimately a racially charged image." (More complaints about the anonymity) "Instead, the call was simply for the individual or groups slapping the posters up to publicly ID themselves and take credit for their work. Come forth and take public pride in branding the president a jokester and a socialist."
So the pressure was on. Charges leveled, people coming up with devious intents on why the 'artist' chose to remain anonymous.
And then...poof. The story disappears. Wait? What happened? The media and many liberals, so obsessed with decrying the poster, suddenly stopped caring.
Did they suddenly realize how biased they were being? Did the see all the downright evil posters and accusations made against President Bush during his tenure as president, and realize how they couldn't have cared less then? (More on that in the next thread. Just click on the Media Bias tag to find more.)
Nope. THIS is why the story suddenly became so unappealing. Oh, how confused they must have been.
Here's some snippets:
"...Was it an ultra-conservative grassroots group or a disgruntled street artist going against the grain?
Nope, it turns out, just a 20-year-old college student from Chicago.
Bored during his winter school break, Firas Alkhateeb, a senior history major at the University of Illinois, crafted the picture of Obama with the recognizable clown makeup using Adobe’s Photoshop software...
So, now you have met L.A. Weekly/MSNBC/S.F. Chronicle/Wasington Post’s racist right-wing nut: a Kucinich-supporting kid of Palestinian heritage from Obama’s hometown. The left will have to get creative if they hope to “Joe the Plumber” this guy.
We’ll make sure to post the media’s apologies for fear mongering as they role in…"

In short, the man, not just a student, but a liberal, Palestinian, Kucinich supporter was responsible. Not whatever many liberals had crafted in their fantasy worlds. Oh how their worlds must have shattered. Can't possible go after this one, it wouldn't be 'politically correct.' (Ha!) Oh, and the reality of the situation failed to further their agenda of painting all of their opponents in a false light. (Because even they know they can't win an open and honest debate, hence the name calling.)

So what happens? Not actual journalism, but a nice vanishing act.

"Imagine for a moment the person that created the now famous Obama Joker poster was found to be a white conservative that voted for John McCain and Sarah Palin last November.Do you think Obama-loving media outlets would have reported the revelation?
Probably 24 hours a day for the next couple of weeks until the episode became a "teachable moment" and the perpetrator was forced to have a beer with the President and Vice President.
Yet, when the Los Angeles Times reported early Monday evening the artist was a liberal-leaning Palestinian, most press members couldn't have cared less.
LexisNexis and Google news searches identified the following major media outlets completely ignored the story:
  • The Associated Press
  • Reuters
  • AFP
  • The New York Times
  • The Washington Post
  • USA Today
  • ABC
  • CBS
  • NBC
  • MSNBC"

More here.

So there you have it. While it could have furthered an agenda, it was 24/7, must see news. When reality hit, the story is swept under the rug. And the Main Stream Media wonders why it's tanking in the ratings department.

Random Musings-Fantastic Report About Schools in America

Hey all.  Taking a bit of a break from all the updates.  Creating a solid foundation to launch a site from is certainly taking a lot longer than I envisioned.  The reason for not spreading the word about the site yet is just that, I want to have a good amount of information and facts available for when the advertising push starts.  But hey, you need to work hard to achieve success.

Random musing will serve as this websites 'open forum.'  If there's a major speech or event going on, I'll open up a thread to have constant and healthy debate in.  Even if there's not, you may find a Random Musings thread open to just let your thoughts be known.

Although we're still keeping this site under wraps, on the off chance someone drops by, and for future readers, I need to spread the word about the fantastic Fox News special tonight, currently airing.  It will re-air at 12 am.

It features Tucker Carlson researching what exactly our school students are learning, being indoctrinated with.  It's truly mind boggling.  File this one under the 'Have to see it to believe it' category.

Update:  Wow, I need to find a way to get clips of this report on the site.  Fox News, airing now until 10pm, reairing at 12 am.

Main Stream Media Ignores Van Jones Story

We've only just revealed the tip of the iceberg in regards to Van Jones, one of Presidents Obama's top advisers, and with just a few articles and one video, I would imagine, at the very least, you are chock full of questions you'd like answered.  Well, don't go looking to the main stream media.  They've ditched journalism for ideology long, long ago.

"From a Nexis search a few moments ago:
Total words about the Van Jones controversy in the New York Times: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy in the Washington Post: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy on NBC Nightly News: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy on ABC World News: 0.
Total words about the Van Jones controversy on CBS Evening News: 0."

Good job, main stream media, good job... At least have the nerve to admit up front your devoted to promoting a certain ideology and to heck opposing points of view, especially those pesky facts.  Welcome to Reality.

Unions Try To Unionize Even In-Home Caregivers

"Caregivers who vote against joining a union or don’t vote at all would get to choose whether to become members if SEIU or AFSCME receives the most votes, but even if they decline to join, they will have to pay “fair share” dues, according to union representatives."

When are people going to wise up and realize what a scam unions have become.  Maybe one day in the past they served a helpful purpose, but for the most part, those days are long gone.  Just wait until we start reporting on the *shudder* Teacher's Union...Not many things make my blood boil like that topic...

One quote from a mother and 'In-Home Caregiver' sums it up nicely:

"“Are you saying I can go on strike and not wipe my son’s rear end?” Keith said, questioning if union membership would pit her interests against her son’s."

School Tells Parents They Cannot Opt Out of Obama Speech

Don't get me wrong, I love food, but this, this is just... Well, let's just say I don't think I've ever been THAT hungry.

Site Update: For those curious about the title, this is yet another revelation of a daily site segment! Huh?! segments are fun little news stories that make you, to say the least, scratch your head. Expect laughs, tears, and confusion in the days ahead.
And as a (foreshadowing) bonus, we'll be having plenty of contests here on The Political Wall, and to get a head start, how about figuring out where the title of these daily segments came from?

Rangel Under Increasing Fire

"The panel is examining Rangel's failure to declare rental income on a beachfront villa he owns in the Dominican Republic and his storage of a vintage Mercedes in a House parking garage -- stories that were first reported by The Post.
The panel also is probing his use of four rent-stabilized apartments in Harlem; his use of congressional stationery to solicit donations for an academic center named for him at City College; allegations that he used his position to help a million-dollar donor to the Rangel Center retain a lucrative tax break; and whether Rangel broke House rules when he went on Caribbean trips that appeared to be sponsored by corporate interests."

In addition to all that, the article brings up new revelations regarding Charlie Rangel's 'fishy' campaign contributions.

More Media Chaos

Really Now? How About Some Respect? I'll Settle For Sanity...

"What’s more shameless than the Associated Press defying the wishes of a dying soldier’s family and splashing his bloody body all over the wires?
Why, the Huffington Post reprinting a massively large version of the image on its front page with an accompanying blog commentary praising the AP photographer’s work as “tasteful” — along with thousands of comments praising the decision and calling for even more bloody US troop photos to be published."

Think that's bad?  How about this...

"And no, I’m not done with the AP yet. Blogger Ztower points out that the AP refused to reprint the Mohammed Cartoons because they were "offensive", but has no problem offending a dead soldier’s family for the Greater Journalistic Good of ginning up anti-war sentiment."

So let me get this straight, can't offend the people trying to kill us, but you can offend those trying to protect us, and their entire families?  Not to mention a strong majority of Americans.  Yeah, the media's real unbiased...  To be honest, I'm getting really tired of this claim that things are 'offensive.'  There's freedom of speech in this country, no matter how much certain groups may not like it.  Stop trying to use a back door method to limit our First Amendment rights.

Unemployment Hits 9.7%

"The unemployment rate jumped almost half a point to 9.7 percent in August, the highest since 1983, reflecting a poor job market that will make it hard for the economy to begin a sustained recovery."

So much for that stimulus, eh?  And that number doesn't even include people who have given up looking for jobs, and those whose jobless benefits have run out.  And all the while, we're printing more and more money...Hmmmm, I wonder if my Monopoly money will be good one day...

The Daily Best: Has the daze worn off?

"But what has occurred -- irreversibly -- is this: He's become ordinary. The spell is broken. The charismatic conjurer of 2008 has shed his magic. He's regressed to the mean, tellingly expressed in poll numbers hovering at 50 percent."

This is a fantastic article written by Charles Krauthammer, focusing on President Obama's fall from untouchable to 'ordinary.'  Full of great points and facts.

The Early Years of Van Jones

" "Our moment had finally come! We were righteous, fired up, weren't takin' no more!" Jones wrote. "We were one thousand strong on Market Street, with the Bay Bridge shut down in rush hour traffic and the grounds around the state building swarming with angry mobs! Our rallying cry was for justice; our demand was that the System be changed!"
Jones continued, "Yes, the Great Revolutionary Moment had at long last come. And the time, clearly, was ours! So we stole stuff. Y'know, stole stuff. Radios, tennis shoes. Well, not everybody, of course." "

Support for War in Afghanistan Falling?

"The White House is facing mounting pressure from lawmakers to work harder to rally flagging public support for the war in Afghanistan.  With casualties rising, the administration is struggling to persuade voters that the war can be won or is worth the human and financial costs. Afghanistan is President Barack Obama's top foreign-policy priority, but recent polls show that a majority of voters oppose the war for the first time since the conflict began eight years ago."

Afghanistan had unfortunately become the 'forgotten war' for some time, but now the focus has shifted.  It will be interesting to see how President Obama handles this situation.  His base may not like it, but he may not have a choice but to increase troop levels if he wishes to achieve victory in Afghanistan.  Ironically, this may be the one issue where a majority of conservatives agree with the president, and a majority of liberals do not.  I just hope the president does the right thing, doing what needs to be done to protect our troops and win the battle, and keeps the issue from becoming political.
Hmmm, come to think of it, I wonder where all those anti-war protests went?  You remember, the ones so prevelant during the Bush Administration?

Who exactly is Van Jones?

"President Obama's "green jobs" adviser could become a mounting liability for the Obama administration, as the latest revelation about Van Jones shows his apparent belief that the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks may have been an inside job."

Have you heard of Van Jones, one of President Obama's advisers?  I certainly have, and have quite a strong opinion of the man, but the information that led to that opinion will be posted in the days to come.  Until then, I'll keep my own thoughts to myself so I do not influence your opinion.

Rasmussen Reports: 51% say Congress too liberal

From a Rasmussen Reports telephone survey:

"Fifty-one percent (51%) of voters nationwide believe that Congress is too liberal while 22% hold the opposite view and say it is too conservative."

"Republicans overwhelmingly believe that Congress is too liberal, a view shared by 59% of those not affiliated with either major party.
A plurality of Democrats have a different view. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of Democrats say Congress is too conservative, 19% too liberal, and 26% about right."

What better way to kick off the site than with some Rasmussen polling data!

I can certainly understand where a majority of the respondents are coming from, but 22% say congress is too conservative?!  I'd love to hear from some of the people and see how they could have possibly formed that opinion!  I can't even remember the last time something Conservative has come out of congress.
